AsiaKOL: How long have you been a blogger?

Choyce: I have been a blogger for 12 years

AsiaKOL: How did you become a travel blogger? Which country is the most familiar for you?

Choyce: I majored at Japanese language at the Fu Jen Catholic University. So, Japan was the main country I travelled to in the beginning. I was 20 years old during my first visit to Tokyo. I would travel abroad four times a year. After I had my first child, I started to travel around Europe. In one year, I travelled to five continents (Africa, Australia, America, Asia, Europe). I became a travel blogger, international foreign tourist guide and on parenting blogging. I am abroad for more than 200 days a year.

AsiaKOL: Which would you say was your most memorable trip so far?

Choyce: Well, every trip has a different experience and story. One that comes in mind was Morocco where I had a culture shock.

There was also a lot of bad reputation on Paris on the safety and security concerns. But when I was there, I was pleasantly surprised as I had a lot of locals helping me out. I also really love the culture and historical buildings in Paris. Paris seemed like a dream.

I had a bad experience in Switzerland. It was my first time there travelling with my Kids (1Y & 3 Y). My homestay owner was Taiwanese and they were quite harsh expectably to Taiwanese. After that experience, I told my self never to book a homestay owned or managed by a Taiwanese.

AsiaKOL: Which is your favourite country now?

Choyce: I feel Tokyo is like my second hometown, Hokkaido is my back garden, and I long for Paris.

AsiaKOL: What was you most memorable business trip?

Choyce: I was in Milan for an exhibition to promote an Italian brand. During the event, I received a lot of help from strangers. I missed my train and one guy sent me to the train station. One supermarket staff even helped me to get into a bus. It was a challenging business trip, but with the kind help of others, the trip become one of my most memorable one. I hope that I would also be able to lend a helping hand to others as what I have received.

AsiaKOL: What has changed about yourself and what have you obtained being a blogger?

Choyce: I started with Zero Fans and now I have 400,000 fans. I became the number one travel blogger in 2017 based on "Big Data". I saw that a lot of people were afraid of travelling. Now, they are able to travel with their kids and parents. Wathcing them changes makes me happy. I have fans who has been following me for more than 10 Years. They have been very supportive and it has keep inspired me to keep writing.

AsiaKOL:  How do you arrange your time for your travels for business or pleasure?

Choyce: Travelling is part of my job. It is difficult to define when it is for business for pleasure. I enjoy traveling but at the same time I have to ensure that I get the correct content from work and figure out the best way to present it. It is a big challenge but I do enjoy it. I wake up everyday passionate about it.

AsiaKOL: How do you normally interact with your fans?

Choyce: My fans would normally write me a letter sharing share their troubles and what they have gained from my blog. I have watched my fan’s children growing up as well. It makes me happy as I feel like I have thousands of children. I rarely interact with lucky draw because I know that my loyal fans do not follow me because of gifts.

AsiaKOL: What is your goal right now?

Choyce: My goal has been the same as when I first started and it will never change. I am not writing for sales. I want to reach more people with my blog and I want to write a book which can effect people’s life. My goal is not to travel the world or becoming rich. My goal is to reach mothers so they can become strong and self-sufficient.

AsiaKOL: Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

Choyce: I am a normal person coming from Tainan, but I know I have to put my best in everything I do, My motto is

『不積跬步,無以至千里;不積小流,無以成江海。騏驥一躍,不能十步;駑馬十駕,功在不捨。鍥而舍之,朽木不折;鍥而不捨,金石可鏤。』

“Success lies in never giving up and keep on going”
